Bleeding Me

Seeing the look of utter dissappointment on Stu's face as he was nearly in tears finally settled it for me.

These people are LOST. They will argue against it, they will get angry with me for saying a word about it, and they will try to defend themselves and justify their actions.

...and for the longest time, I actually let them convince me that I was wrong, that I was over reacting.

Well I've gotten the confirmation I need, I'm NOT the only one who feels like this.

Stu never knew about the things that his dear friends take part in... Somehow he never heard, until now. It hit him like a ton of bricks. As soon as he realised what was transpiring to take place, he instantly felt completely let down, like a hero of had died.

In a way, a hero of his DID die... Just like she died to me when I found out. Maybe she never realized that she was an inspiration to so many people... but who cares? It's all about the alcohol now.

The FIRST clue that its wrong is the fact that they have to lock the door before it takes place.

The second is that there is a law that restricts use by age.

The third is that the Bible clearly states not to abuse alcohol.


Proverbs 20:1 (AMP):
Wine is a mocker, strong drink a riotous brawler, and whoever errs or reels because of it is not wise.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10:
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Although, a Christian may be free to drink moderately as long as they do not become drunk, is that the highest thing we should do? Paul stated in the New Testament that he would not allow his liberty to be a license to sin, nor would he do anything that would cause a brother to stumble.

Galatians 5:13: "For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another."

1 Corinthians 8:9: "But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak."

In the Old Testament there was a group of people known as Nazarites that took a vow to separate themselves unto the Lord and therefore they would not drink any wine or alcoholic beverages.

Numbers 6:2-3: "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD: He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried."

We must all give an account of ourselves before our Lord. What would please Him? Would it not be pleasing to Him if we loved others enough to give up those things we could have, for a greater cause? Would it not be a more powerful witness to others in our age to stand out as one who did not drink alcoholic beverages because we had no need to do so. When we are filled with the Spirit of God, His spirit gives us the joy and release that many are seeking by drinking. May we instead desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit and have no need for "spirits."

Ephesians 5:18-20:
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

But I'm going to be called a hypocrite, and self righteous because I myself have flaws and I DO sin.

You know what that is? That's just an excuse to say "Well you're bad TOO so I don't have to change!"

If you're basing your spiritual walk off of the deeds of another person, you'd better rethink things.

Either way, it's over. I'm not going to go out of my way to associate with these people. Why? Well it's not that I hate them. It's because I go to church to be surrounded by people who stay away from these things. I don't want to be involved with it.

The Bible tells me not to seclude myself from those who I think are doing wrong... but to surround myself with them and minister to them.

Well, anybody else, I will. But not these two. Why? Because when I try to suggest a change, a bettering of themselves, they insult me, degrade me, make me feel like I'm wrong when I am NOT wrong.

I have my short comings, we all do, but at least I try to make a change. Does that make me better than you? Sure doesn't, but why, when you've got the answer planted squarely in front of your face, don't you give up the drink and thirst for the Lord?

So you say you'll never drive drunk, or get so totally drunk that you're incoherent.

You say that now...

But how many times have you said "Ah just one more"?

How do you know you WON'T ever say that?

Playing with fire only gets you burnt.

Make a change, in the name of GOD, change it. FIX IT. Stop drinking PERIOD. You have NO PLACE DOING THIS, EITHER OF YOU, and you DEFINITELY don't have a place making me or anybody else feel bad for trying to pull your blinders off.

Where is my place in telling you that you're wrong?

Fine. I won't anymore then. But we all know that you don't want me speaking out against it because you just don't want to admit that you are doing something that is BAD.
